Responsibilities
- Translate requirements into technical solutions and develop customized web applications, web services, mobile solutions, and enterprise systems.
- Develop and maintain geoprocessing workflows and GIS services using Esri ArcGIS technologies.
- Administer, develop, support, upgrade, and migrate the university's enterprise mapping system, GIS applications, services, platform components, and integrations.
- Automate GIS workflows and administrative processes using Python, ArcGIS APIs, and other scripting or development technologies.
- Process, quality-control, and manage drone-derived imagery, point clouds, and 3D datasets for GIS platforms and digital twin environments.
- Apply GeoAI, machine learning, and automated geospatial analysis techniques to extract features, classify assets, detect change, and improve spatial data workflows.
- Conduct performance, unit, system, integration, and quality assurance testing of applications.
- Monitor installed systems and infrastructure, provide second- and third-level support, and troubleshoot application, GIS platform, database, integration, and infrastructure issues.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, including weekends, holidays, and after-hours maintenance windows.
- Collaborate with platform teams and other Enterprise Technology groups on governance, security, reliability, and organizational health.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and five years of experience appropriate to the assignment, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Experience developing or automating GIS workflows with Python, ArcPy, ArcGIS API for Python, REST APIs, or comparable technologies.
- Experience developing and supporting Esri ArcGIS solutions, including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, Portal, ArcGIS Pro, GIS web services, and enterprise geodatabases.
- Knowledge of GIS technologies, relational databases, geodatabase management, analysis, and modeling.
- Experience with public cloud technologies, primarily AWS and also Azure or Google Cloud.
- Experience with Linux or Windows operating systems, patch management, system maintenance, scripting, repositories, and secure secrets management.
- Experience with relational and non-relational data structures, testing, accessibility design principles, Jira, and Confluence.
- Familiarity with Bash/Ksh, PowerShell, Perl, Python, Ruby, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Neptune, iOS, Android, Arduino, HashiCorp Vault, and AWS Secrets Manager.
- Experience with security standards, practices, and control frameworks is desired.
