Responsibilities
- Architect and build complex user-facing features across DeepL’s primary translation products.
- Build interfaces and backend systems for the Enterprise Customization Hub and related translation workflows.
- Parse and translate PDF, Word, and PowerPoint documents while preserving formatting.
- Integrate DeepL into enterprise workflows and support complex collaboration and localization use cases.
- Make technical decisions involving state management, API integrations, and performance, then prototype, measure, and iterate.
- Collaborate across Engineering, Research, Product, and Design to deliver transparent, high-performing user experiences.
- Use AI-powered development tools for boilerplate code, test generation, and debugging.
Requirements
- Hands-on full-stack engineering experience with strengths leaning heavily toward backend development.
- Experience with C# and Python.
- Comfort with JavaScript-based rendering and front-end development.
- Ability to architect complex systems, make high-stakes technical decisions, and work effectively with ambiguous requirements.
- Product-focused approach centered on user adoption, reduced friction, performance, and business impact.
- Ability to collaborate with Research, Product, and Design teams to translate complex AI constraints into intuitive user experiences.
- Bonus experience with visual or image-processing models for document analysis, OCR, document layout understanding, SAP or other legacy enterprise integrations, and products serving both B2C and enterprise customers.
