Base Salary
$178k - $267k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain software written in PHP.
- Evolve the OpenAPI platform by identifying friction and implementing measurable developer-experience improvements.
- Partner with product engineering teams to build and roll out new features.
- Debug issues spanning multiple systems, determine root causes, and route or resolve them.
- Collaborate with product, analytics, research, and other partners to identify high-impact projects.
- Scope platform projects, divide them into delivery stages, and resolve architectural trade-offs.
- Write high-quality code and mentor teammates through reviews, pairing, and general mentoring.
- Set the team’s technical direction, including project priorities and team processes.
- Advise internal teams on feature rollouts and management of breaking changes in OpenAPI.
Requirements
- Experience with object-oriented software languages, with most work performed in PHP.
- Experience building and maintaining REST APIs, particularly managing breaking changes and related technical capabilities.
- Experience using observability tools to monitor API usage and related metrics, such as Grafana, HoneyComb, or Google Cloud Logging.
- Strong platform ownership, critical thinking, independent judgment, attention to detail, and ability to translate business requirements into production-ready code.
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences and the ability to learn autonomously.
- Experience working with AI agents and related tools such as MCP servers and skills.
