Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of cloud-native, high-performance data pipelines and microservices.
- Build, support, monitor, and optimize solutions using Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, JPA, JavaScript, MongoDB, Apache Flink, Apache Beam, and GCP services.
- Own live production applications and modernize legacy stacks with minimal service disruption.
- Define transformation roadmaps and lead migration, re-platforming, and refactoring of legacy applications to cloud-native architectures.
- Ensure service resilience, data quality, integrity, and end-to-end security.
- Coach and mentor engineers across levels and promote current data engineering practices.
- Partner with cross-functional teams and senior business stakeholders to deliver new features and enhancements.
- Report risks and issues proactively and develop practical mitigation plans.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of development engineering experience with strong ETL and data pipeline delivery experience.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field.
- Strong leadership and hands-on capability in Java and SQL.
- Front-end exposure to React and TypeScript.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for complex data and application issues.
- Clear communication and effective collaboration with teams and senior business stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of Helm for Kubernetes deployments.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Stackdriver.
- Good understanding of cloud and Kubernetes security best practices.
- DevOps skills are advantageous.
- Relevant industry certifications are a plus.
