Base Salary
$175k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain backend services, APIs, and databases for the scientific discovery platform.
- Contribute to frontend features and workflows in collaboration with design and frontend teams.
- Build and extend data pipelines that support AI agents and research workflows.
- Implement monitoring, observability, and automated testing for system reliability.
- Troubleshoot issues across the stack and proactively improve system quality.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and research teams to ship new AI-driven features.
- Grow as a software engineer within a collaborative team focused on AI for science.
Requirements
- Typically, 3+ years of software engineering experience with backend and frontend development exposure.
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend language, preferably Python.
- Experience designing and consuming APIs, with knowledge of FastAPI or REST; GraphQL is a plus.
- Familiarity with frontend frameworks like React or Next.js.
- Working knowledge of relational or document databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure like AWS, GCP, or Azure, and containerized environments like Docker.
- Experience with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and basic automated testing.
- Strong curiosity and a growth mindset in a fast-moving environment.
