Base Salary

$144k - $217k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain editors, compilers, previewers, debuggers, and other content authoring tools.
  • Partner with developers, technical artists, and content teams to define and streamline asset creation workflows.
  • Maintain and extend content compilation pipelines for data validation, baking, and runtime packaging.
  • Fix bugs, reduce technical debt, and diagnose issues affecting content creators and developer support teams.
  • Translate creator feedback into tool improvements and use telemetry to prioritize work and measure impact.
  • Break down ambiguous tool-development problems into scoped plans with dependencies, risks, and tasks.
  • Propose and lead initiatives that improve tools architecture and development practices.

Requirements

  • Excellent C++ and 3D math skills.
  • At least 5 years of experience building editors, systems, or engines for game development and shipping projects with large, mature codebases.
  • Strong experience with level design, art, animation, and other game-engine content workflows.
  • Familiarity with commercial and proprietary game engines and their toolchains.
  • Knowledge of software development principles, contemporary standards, performance optimization, and design patterns for user-facing applications and game development.
  • Experience with UI frameworks and UX best practices.
  • A service-minded subject matter expert who can support internal customers and resolve their issues.
  • Preferred experience with graphics APIs, C#, Python, and DCC tools.
