
Senior Backend Software Engineer

Responsibilities
- Develop backend applications for Salesforce products and cloud offerings.
- Design, implement, and tune robust APIs and API framework features for scalable multi-tenant environments.
- Handle large datasets in cloud platforms and integrate internal and external systems.
- Build and ship production-grade software using modern engineering practices, testing practices, and CI/CD tools.
- Use AI development tools and advanced prompt engineering to produce secure, optimized, high-quality code.
- Design systems in which AI agents integrate with human workflows and contribute to shared system context documentation.
- Evaluate human- and AI-generated code for correctness, quality, security, and performance.
- Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to address complex problems and maintain service availability.
- For Big Data roles, work with large-scale distributed systems technologies such as Phoenix, HBase, MapReduce, Yarn, Kafka, Spark, Hive, or Presto.
Requirements
- A related technical degree is required.
- 5+ years of backend software development experience.
- Deep knowledge of object-oriented programming languages including Java, C++, Go, C#, Ruby, Scala, Python, Node.js, or JavaScript.
- Broad knowledge of API-related web standards and technologies including REST, SOAP, XML, WSDL, HTTP, and JSON.
- Experience with Spring, gRPC, REST, and the HTTP protocol.
- Experience with Agile development methodology.
- A demonstrated AI-first approach to engineering and experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Cursor.
- Advanced prompt engineering skills and the ability to create precise prompts and reliable system context.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and maintain highly available services.
