Responsibilities
- Own and deliver large, complex software projects on time, within scope, and to high quality standards.
- Design and implement artist-facing playback review tools, asset browsers, plugins, and related applications.
- Write scalable code, participate in architecture and design decisions, and lead code reviews.
- Mentor and guide intermediate and associate engineers.
- Define project risks and mitigation strategies and troubleshoot critical production-pipeline issues.
- Integrate applications with proprietary systems and third-party digital content creation tools.
- Drive intuitive UI/UX for artist-facing tools and plugins.
- Research technical challenges, solve root causes, document solutions, and contribute to the team’s strategic direction.
- Collaborate with technical, creative, and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least four years of software development experience focused on production applications.
- Experience developing plugins and tools for artist workflows and supporting creative teams.
- Proficiency in Python and experience working in a UNIX/Linux environment.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, particularly Qt/PyQt.
- Experience mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and providing technical leadership.
- Experience integrating software with Maya, Nuke, Houdini, and Katana.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and strategic root-cause analysis skills.
- Familiarity with Git, OTIO, and OCIO.
- Strong knowledge of C, C++, and OpenGL.
