Responsibilities
- Own and build collections of services and technology areas within OCI Compute.
- Design, develop, maintain, and improve mission-critical services with emphasis on security, resiliency, scale, performance, and operability.
- Understand service architecture, call flows, configurations, dependencies, capacity, and production behavior.
- Develop advanced capabilities for the Oracle Cloud service portfolio and define service architecture improvements.
- Automate and orchestrate infrastructure and serve as the escalation point for complex or critical issues.
- Troubleshoot distributed systems, define mitigations, and explain the impact of product architecture decisions.
- Lead a team, own team deliverables, break down work, estimate effort, and drive multiple parallel workstreams.
- Assess and mitigate technical risks and carefully plan and execute changes, upgrades, and enhancements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science and engineering or a related engineering field.
- 6+ years of experience developing and operating large-scale, highly available distributed systems.
- 6+ years of experience designing and developing mission-critical Java backend microservices.
- Experience leading a team and owning team deliverables.
- Expertise in Java, Linux, Python, Terraform, CI/CD tools, networking, microservices architecture, and systems engineering.
- Familiarity with Chef, Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, and Python for infrastructure automation.
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Deep understanding of cloud computing, observability, and NoSQL databases.
- Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, communication, collaboration, and technical risk-management skills.
