Responsibilities
- Build product features in collaboration with TPMs, SDMs, and product stakeholders.
- Architect, design, develop, and maintain the Apple Player SDK for streaming products.
- Own product development from concept through development, testing, acceptance, adoption, and iterative improvement.
- Advocate best practices for player architecture, design, and development.
- Identify performance optimization opportunities and improve playback quality and reliability.
- Monitor protocol and architecture trends and recommend new features and improvements.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and respond to feedback from testers, client application developers, and product managers.
- Mentor and coach software engineers and assist with backlog grooming and estimation.
Requirements
- 5-9 years of experience in the broadcasting video or OTT domain and architecting native applications for the Apple ecosystem.
- Strong knowledge of Swift, including concurrency and Combine, with UIKit experience; SwiftUI is preferred.
- Knowledge of Apple TV architecture, Media Framework, Media Player APIs, AVFoundation APIs, and Apple SDKs.
- Experience with unit testing using XCTest, integration testing, and debugging with profiling tools such as Instruments.
- Understanding of software architecture, design principles, object-oriented design, algorithms, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
- Familiarity with web service integration, REST, and JSON.
- Experience with DevOps/SRE practices such as CI/CD, performance monitoring, and incident management is a plus.
- Strong mentoring, coaching, communication, and data-driven technical decision-making skills.
