Base Salary
$179k - $205k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Deliver robust cloud-based solutions in collaboration with digital product managers.
- Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and establish standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
- Partner with architects to define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
- Identify improvements, reduce technical debt, and enhance system performance through targeted refactoring.
- Evaluate emerging tools and practices and influence long-term technology strategy in a you-build-it-you-own-it environment.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical onboarding, training, and continuous education initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: 7+ years of coding experience with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.
- Preferred: experience with databases, cloud platforms, open source frameworks, frontend JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, synchronous and asynchronous APIs, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, Git-based version control, and cloud troubleshooting.
- Preferred: experience with AI-based coding tools, IDE copilots, interactive AI tooling, observability, distributed-system performance optimization, technical mentorship, cross-functional engineering leadership, coding standards, and design patterns.

- Annual base salary varies by location: $179,400-$204,700 in Plano, TX and Richmond, VA, or $197,300-$225,100 in McLean, VA.
- The role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including potential cash bonuses and long-term incentives.
