Responsibilities
- Build tools, services, and self-service workflows for developer experience and extend the internal developer platform.
- Design, build, deploy, and operate production APIs and backend services.
- Maintain Terraform modules, CLI tooling, versioning, and backward compatibility for the internal developer platform.
- Design and evolve modular CI/CD systems, reusable artifacts, and infrastructure-as-code deployment automation.
- Build and operate AI gateways and centralized AI developer platforms, including Amazon Bedrock AgentCore agents, knowledge bases, and memory.
- Design for high availability and disaster recovery and define monitoring, logging, and alerting standards.
- Translate functional and non-functional requirements into secure, robust architectures.
- Own and run client engagements, interact with stakeholders, make recommendations, and shape project direction.
- Break projects into features, user stories, and tasks; coordinate releases; and coach junior engineers.
- Support team growth and contribute to practice leadership, business development, and people leadership depending on level.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of hands-on AWS delivery experience across platform engineering, solution design, and cloud architecture.
- Separately, 5–7 years of experience as a working software developer in Python, Go, or Java.
- Deep hands-on backend development experience, including production API and service design, deployment, and operations.
- Experience building and maintaining internal developer platforms with Terraform, CLI tooling, versioning, and release management.
- Experience with feature flags, trunk-based development, modular CI/CD templates, and infrastructure as code.
- Knowledge of security-by-default architecture, high availability, disaster recovery, monitoring, and governance standards.
- Interest in or experience building AI gateways, centralized AI developer platforms, and Amazon Bedrock AgentCore capabilities.
- Ability to define and defend technical standards and proposals with architecture and security teams.
- Experience owning client engagements, working with stakeholders, advising clients, and making recommendations.
- Ability to coach junior engineers and support the development of team capabilities.
- A lifelong-learning mindset and willingness to solve complex client problems.
