Responsibilities
- Enhance the existing monitoring system to reduce cost and complexity while adding self-service and automation capabilities.
- Contribute to the monitoring roadmap by researching industry trends, alternatives, and enhanced platform capabilities.
- Partner with monitoring stakeholders to identify needs, gaps, opportunities, and upcoming requirements.
- Lead training sessions to improve stakeholder engagement and understanding of monitoring platform capabilities.
- Partner with vendors to understand current tool capabilities and future enhancements.
- Maintain the monitoring platform, including New Relic, Splunk, Elastic, Google Observability, and Atlassian.
Requirements
- Experience administering monitoring platforms using the currently utilized tools or industry equivalents.
- Working knowledge of application and infrastructure topology required to operate an eCommerce application platform.
- Experience with automation tools including Ansible, Terraform, and Argo.
- Familiarity with virtual machines, AWS or GCP, Kubernetes, load balancers, cloud products, container systems, compute, and storage.
- Strong organizational, analytical, critical-thinking, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
