Responsibilities
- Research, design, define, develop, test, document, and implement new applications or modifications to existing applications.
- Install software packages and personal computer software and ensure hardware and software operate efficiently.
- Analyze processing problems, collect and interpret data, and provide effective programming and systems-related solutions.
- Consult with and advise business unit associates regarding existing or proposed systems.
- Participate in developmental projects, large-scale improvement projects, and internal IT technical committees, with possible responsibility for chairing committees.
- Train programming staff and business unit associates on technical topics or systems definition.
- Document procedures and activities and provide production support as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate selection-criteria experience.
- Proven programming experience across research, design, requirements gathering, business-unit collaboration, development, testing, documentation, and production support.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and motivate coworkers in difficult situations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, data interpretation, decision-making, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under multiple deadlines with minimal supervision and organize projects with limited direction.
- Ability to document procedures and activities clearly using prescribed formats and proper grammar, punctuation, diction, and spelling.
- Proficiency in programming languages required by the individual business unit.
- Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications.
