Responsibilities
- Research, design, define, develop, test, document, and implement new computer applications and changes to existing applications.
- Install software packages and personal computer software and help ensure hardware and software operate efficiently.
- Analyze processing problems and collaborate with IT and business associates to identify solutions.
- Advise business associates on existing or proposed systems through written and oral communication.
- Participate in development, improvement, and internal IT technical committees, including potentially chairing committees or subcommittees.
- Provide technical training to programming staff or business unit associates.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or commensurate selection-criteria experience.
- Proven programming experience covering activities such as research, design, requirements gathering, business-unit collaboration, development, testing, documentation, and production support.
- Demonstrated teamwork, analytical problem-solving, decision-making, communication, organization, and ability to work under multiple deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Ability to document procedures and activities clearly using prescribed formats and strong English grammar, punctuation, diction, and spelling.
- Proficiency in programming languages required by the relevant business unit.
- Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to perform continuous computer work and meet visual, written communication, and office-work requirements.
