Responsibilities
- Research, design, define, develop, test, document, and implement new applications and changes to existing applications.
- Install software packages and personal computer software and ensure hardware and software operate efficiently.
- Analyze processing problems and collaborate with IT and business associates to develop solutions.
- Advise business associates on existing or proposed systems through written and oral communication.
- Participate in developmental, improvement, and internal IT technical committees, with opportunities to chair committees or subcommittees.
- Provide training to programming staff or business associates on technical topics and systems definition.
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate selection-criteria experience is required.
- Proven programming experience covering research, design, requirements gathering, business-unit collaboration, development, testing, documentation, and production support.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and motivate coworkers in difficult situations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, data interpretation, decision-making, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under multiple deadlines with minimal supervision and organize projects with limited direction.
- Ability to document procedures and activities clearly using prescribed formats and strong English grammar, punctuation, diction, and spelling.
- Proficiency in programming languages required by the applicable business unit.
- Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to perform continuous computer work and extended reading, communicate information accurately, and prepare written correspondence and reports.
