Responsibilities

  • Research, design, define, develop, test, document, and implement new applications or changes to existing applications.
  • Solve systems and program problems and analyze data related to processing issues.
  • Install software packages and personal computer software and help ensure hardware and software operate efficiently.
  • Consult with and advise business-unit associates about existing or proposed systems.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and technical guidance to programming staff, systems managers, business management, and associates.
  • Participate in developmental projects, large-scale improvement projects, and internal IT technical committees, including chairing committees when needed.
  • Manage multiple assignments and deadlines with minimal supervision and escalate decisions to the Manager when necessary.
  • Comply with organizational policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate selection-criteria experience is required.
  • Proven significant programming experience across research, design, requirements gathering, business-unit collaboration, development, testing, documentation, and production support is required.
  • Experience advising programming associates on technical and application aspects of the work is required.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, motivation of coworkers, strong analytical skills, problem-solving, decision-making, and effective communication are required.
  • Ability to document procedures and activities clearly using prescribed formats and proper English grammar, punctuation, diction, and spelling is required.
  • Experience working under multiple deadlines with minimal supervision is required.
  • Proficiency in programming languages required by the applicable business unit is required.
  • Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications is required.
  • Ability to perform sustained computer-terminal, reading, writing, and hand-and-wrist activities is required.
