Responsibilities
- Design and ship AI-powered features end to end while owning quality, latency, and cost.
- Build backend services and APIs that operate reliably under production load.
- Instrument systems, monitor metrics, and resolve performance or reliability issues.
- Review code and technical designs and provide critical feedback.
- Move prompt, retrieval, evaluation, and agent changes from experimentation to production.
- Collaborate across product, design, data science, and engineering.
Requirements
- Strong Python skills and a track record of shipping and operating production backends.
- Solid AWS experience, including serverless Lambda.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL systems, including DynamoDB, OpenSearch, and Postgres, with understanding of access patterns and scaling limits.
- Experience designing, integrating, and monitoring production APIs.
- Experience with event-driven systems such as Kafka and SQS.
- Production observability experience with metrics, logs, traces, and alerts using Grafana, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry.
- Comfort with distributed systems and loosely scoped problems.
- Experience with Kotlin, Golang, or Java, microservices, and distributed systems is mandatory for this role.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, initiative, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience includes data pipelines such as Airflow, production LLM-based systems, evaluation, prompts, retrieval, agentic workflows, and AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot.
