Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, implementation, lifecycle management, and standardization of enterprise middleware platforms.
- Drive SRE practices covering reliability, observability, availability, service resiliency, SLIs, SLOs, monitoring, alerting, and root cause analysis.
- Manage middleware operations, deployments, upgrades, migrations, capacity expansion, platform refreshes, and service management across multiple environments.
- Lead performance tuning, workload analysis, capacity planning, benchmarking, and scalability initiatives.
- Ensure middleware platforms meet cybersecurity, risk, technology control, regulatory, audit, disaster recovery, and cyber resilience requirements.
- Develop automation, infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, deployment tooling, and DevSecOps integrations using Shell, Python, Ansible, and OpenShift Automation.
- Lead APAC middleware projects and provide technical guidance to architects, application owners, project managers, and business stakeholders.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and act as an escalation point for complex technical, operational, and project matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in middleware technologies, particularly JBoss, WebSphere Application Server, and message queuing systems.
- Expert-level experience installing, configuring, tuning, and troubleshooting WebSphere Application Server.
- Extensive experience with IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or similar message queuing platforms and enterprise application integration.
- Strong knowledge of middleware security, including SSL/TLS, encryption, authentication, and authorization.
- In-depth understanding of middleware technologies and enterprise architecture principles.
- Experience with AWS or Azure and Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift for middleware deployment and management is preferred.
- Experience with Shell or Python scripting for automation and with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Linux, Windows, and networking concepts.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, leadership, project management, architecture, and design abilities.
