Responsibilities
- Define and document solution, application, integration, cloud, and DevSecOps architectures for digital products and backend services.
- Design and evolve backend enablement services, APIs, databases, integrations, and high-availability architectures.
- Facilitate solution definition, technology evaluation, product selection, standard configuration, and architecture pattern development.
- Develop architecture roadmaps and strategies aligned with business goals and enterprise technology value.
- Monitor and evolve the enterprise application portfolio, identifying technology aging and business misalignment.
- Consult with application and infrastructure teams to align projects with architecture and recommend necessary changes.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, project teams, and IT functions.
- Mentor development teams and document architecture design and analysis work.
- Contribute to automated cloud service creation and work within an agile, continuous delivery, and DevOps culture.
Requirements
- University degree in information technology, software engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated software architecture experience involving microservices, monolithic services, APIs, RESTful services, SaaS, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with cloud architecture across AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Knowledge of authentication, OAuth, Kubernetes, Git, OWASP standards, and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with digital online solutions, mobile applications, and marketing technologies such as email, SMS, push messaging, CDP, and analytics.
- Excellent knowledge of software and enterprise design patterns, architecture modeling languages, and techniques.
- Previous experience as a tech lead, content authority, solution architect, or application architect.
- Experience with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF; architecture certifications are an asset.
- Strong technical background across platforms, languages, protocols, frameworks, and open source technologies.
- Insurance experience is a strong asset.
- Ability to communicate with business, telecom, infrastructure, security, audit, and software engineering stakeholders.
- Candidates in Quebec must be bilingual; candidates must be eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date and throughout employment.
