Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and operate distributed systems and services at AWS scale with high availability, low latency, and security.
- Provide technical leadership across the AWS IAM Identity Center stack and drive architectural coherence across services and teams.
- Own technical designs, author design documents, lead technical reviews, and drive implementation of complex cross-cutting features.
- Write high-quality, well-tested, production-ready code and establish engineering excellence standards.
- Resolve complex technical challenges spanning service boundaries through root cause analysis and long-term solutions.
- Mentor and develop engineers through code reviews, design guidance, and technical leadership.
- Collaborate with product managers, principal engineers, and partner teams to define roadmaps and deliver customer-facing features.
- Participate in on-call rotations, improve operational tooling, and reduce operational burden through automation.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 5 years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- At least 5 years of leading design or architecture for new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader.
- Preferred: at least 5 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
