Base Salary
$125k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Deliver AI and ML capabilities for insight generation on the PitchBook Platform.
- Design, build, deploy, and optimize production-grade AI/ML models and services for NLP, summarization, semantic search, classification, and prediction.
- Build models using classifiers, transformers, LLMs, and other NLP techniques, and integrate them into AI/ML infrastructure.
- Develop scalable, high-performance systems and maintain model reliability, monitoring, evaluation, transparency, compliance, and data integrity.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, data collection teams, data scientists, and other partners to align models with product and business goals.
- Research emerging GenAI, NLP, and search technologies and translate findings into practical solutions.
- Contribute to architecture decisions, code and design reviews, technical guidance, candidate evaluation, onboarding, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related technical field; advanced degrees are preferred.
- At least 2 years of software engineering or machine learning engineering experience focused on AI/ML applications such as insight generation, summarization, semantic search, and prediction.
- Hands-on expertise with NLP, classifiers, transformer models, LLMs, scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
- Experience delivering production-grade GenAI or LLM-based systems with measurable business impact.
- Familiarity with LangChain, LangSmith, and LangGraph in production environments is preferred.
- Experience building scalable data pipelines and distributed systems with Apache Kafka, Airflow, and Snowflake.
- Strong Python and SQL skills; Java or Scala experience is a plus.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native development, containerization, and orchestration.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems, contribute to architecture decisions, and deliver reliable, high-performance solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in globally distributed, cross-functional teams.
- Fintech or financial data platform experience is advantageous.
- Peer-reviewed AI/ML research publications and participation in the AI research community are strongly preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

- Annual base salary of $125,000-$180,000 and a target annual bonus percentage of 10%.
