Responsibilities
- Design, document, and implement standalone software solutions for Thales customers.
- Develop complex UI applications using Java, Eclipse RCP, JFace, and JavaFX.
- Design software architectures and apply software design patterns and SOLID object-oriented principles.
- Write use cases and allocate them to functional components.
- Create proof-of-concepts to demonstrate new technologies and architectural concepts.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure implementations comply with the defined architecture and design patterns.
- Provide technical leadership, expertise, and hands-on guidance to junior and intermediate software engineers.
- Support quality software development through requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and release.
- Comply with security guidelines and provide required reporting to management.
Requirements
- A college degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Mathematics.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience developing complex UI applications with Java and Eclipse RCP, including JFace and JavaFX.
- Proficiency in Design Thinking and SOLID object-oriented principles, with broad understanding and use of software design patterns.
- Working knowledge of the Scrum development process and continuous integration practices and tools, including Jira, Mercurial, Git, and Jenkins.
- Experience with Test Driven Development and the full software development lifecycle.
- Strong communication, critical-thinking, problem-solving, attention-to-detail, and self-management skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States for any employer at the time of hire, without current or future visa sponsorship.
- Successful completion of a post-offer background check.
