Base Salary
$200k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the platform that supports Roku UX's AI-assisted design workflows and act as the primary technical contact for workflow leads and engineering.
- Build and maintain integrations connecting AI tooling with the systems designers use.
- Maintain versioning, evaluation, and quality regression practices for AI-assisted work.
- Design secure, compliant infrastructure and patterns for designer-built tools and prototypes using real product data.
- Own hosting and deployment infrastructure for prototypes, micro-apps, and tools.
- Support designers with authentication, broken integrations, environment issues, and AI-assisted prototype development.
- Develop and maintain shared AI tools, workflows, reusable assistants, automations, commands, and UI components.
- Represent UX infrastructure needs in engineering architecture decisions and align UX tooling with Roku's technical standards.
Requirements
- Experience in a hybrid design and engineering role bridging both disciplines.
- Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript, and at least one modern framework such as React, Vue, or Next.js.
- Experience building or operating AI application tooling, including MCP integrations, custom agents, evaluation harnesses, or comparable LLM infrastructure.
- Experience with hosting, deployment, and CI/CD pipelines, such as GitLab Pages or AWS.
- Experience integrating APIs and handling real data and secure credentials in prototypes or tools.
- Experience maintaining shared tooling, component libraries, or developer and designer toolchains.
- Working knowledge of web application security, compliance, PII handling, and secure data access.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Figma Make, Claude, or v0.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Design experience or strong design sensibility, including participation in design critiques and fluency reading Figma files.
- A degree in Computer Science, Design Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
