Base Salary
$112k - $183k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build fault-tolerant, high-throughput search systems using distributed services architecture.
- Lead the implementation and optimization of search clusters for sub-second query performance across petabytes of data.
- Develop and deploy scalable services in Azure using Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs, implement solutions, write test coverage, and oversee releases with Product Management.
- Conduct code reviews and collaborate with cross-site teams on engineering best practices.
- Identify and resolve production issues while maintaining 99.99% availability for critical search services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Informatics, or a relevant field.
- At least 3 years of software development experience in object-oriented languages such as C#, Java, C++, or Go.
- At least 1 year of experience with large-scale data systems and search engines such as Elasticsearch or Solr.
- At least 1 year of experience with distributed data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark or Kafka.
- At least 1 year of experience building services in a public cloud environment such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, experience designing and operating high-availability SaaS platforms, and knowledge of CI/CD tools including Git, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.
