Responsibilities
- Lead a technical pod of full-stack DevOps/DevSecOps engineers while remaining hands-on with code, architecture, infrastructure, and pipelines.
- Own end-to-end architecture for cloud portal workloads across Azure and GCP, including reference architectures, Terraform and Ansible modules, Helm patterns, and platform conventions.
- Conduct systems-level design, trade-off analysis, code reviews, and design reviews while setting technical and quality standards.
- Design and implement infrastructure-as-code modules, CI/CD pipeline logic, and application code as needed.
- Run sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, status reporting, backlog management, sequencing, capacity forecasting, and risk escalation as project manager for the engagement.
- Lead release management, change control, post-incident reviews, and collaboration with client stakeholders.
- Onboard engineers, define growth paths, provide technical coaching, and support hiring loops as the pod expands.
- Embed security, compliance, observability, threat modeling, and audit-response practices into delivery work.
- Champion AI-assisted coding and agentic workflows while reviewing AI-generated output for security and correctness.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering or platform engineering experience.
- At least 2 years leading a delivery team of 3 or more engineers.
- Hands-on coding experience within the last 12 months.
- Experience as a technical architect or technical lead with deep cloud architecture experience in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Strong experience with Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes, reusable module design, and CI/CD pipeline design using Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with DevSecOps tooling and practices, including SAST, DAST, SCA, container and image scanning, supply-chain security, and secrets, certificates, and key management.
- Experience with observability tools and SLO, SLI, and error-budget practices.
- Scripting experience with Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Practical daily experience with AI coding assistants, agentic development workflows, and reviewing AI-generated output for quality and security.
- Strong written and verbal English, systems thinking, problem-solving, ownership, and communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- Preferred qualifications include staff-augmentation or consulting delivery experience, regulated-industry experience, relevant cloud, Kubernetes, or Terraform certifications, Ansible and ArgoCD experience, and full-stack application fluency.
