Responsibilities
- Analyze production data to identify gaps, error patterns, and opportunities in the existing system.
- Design, develop, integrate, and test features for B4 availability, scaling, and NPIs.
- Debug the highly integrated B4 ecosystem, including traffic engineering and admission control.
- Prioritize work and make incremental progress on difficult problems.
- Help team members and partner teams understand broader context and solve the right problems at the right time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Two years of software development experience, or one year of software development experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
- Two years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
- Experience programming in C++.
- Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in computer science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: two years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Preferred: experience optimizing software system performance and debugging complex distributed software systems.
- Preferred: experience or interest in networking technologies such as Software Defined Networking, plus understanding of Internet routing technologies and router or switch telemetry.
Benefits
- Ireland base pay is €100000–€102000 EUR, plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
- The role is with Google Cloud’s WAN Core team working on the global B4 private WAN backbone.
