Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend systems and APIs for high-impact, high-volume applications.
- Deliver production-ready features for a 24/7 sports betting environment.
- Own services across design, development, maintenance, performance tuning, and reliability improvements.
- Triage, investigate, and resolve production issues while improving operational excellence.
- Optimize systems for speed, scalability, and real-time demands.
- Use AI coding tools and agents and build AI-powered or agentic tools to improve engineering workflows.
- Collaborate with product and technical stakeholders, mentor engineers, and drive quality standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or any relevant combination of education, experience, and training.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in object-oriented backend development using C# or Java.
- Deep knowledge of object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, and backend system architecture.
- Experience designing and building scalable distributed systems in cloud environments such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding tools and agents to deliver software or automate engineering workflows.
- Advanced proficiency with automated unit, integration, and performance test suites for large-scale backend services.
- Ability to mentor and develop engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and collaborative debugging.
