Responsibilities
- Design and implement application systems and software components for banking applications.
- Serve as a Tech Lead and senior developer supporting multiple applications with global teams.
- Translate functional requirements and specifications into technical solutions and execute delivery plans.
- Design and operate high-concurrency Java, Spring, microservices, event-driven, messaging, API, database, and resilience solutions.
- Own solution timelines, quality, continuous improvement, software architecture, development processes, and technology adoption.
- Manage people-related activities including hiring, coaching, team building, and performance evaluations.
- Communicate with business users, clients, technology groups, and project teams to deliver projects on schedule.
- Recommend security measures, assess business and technology risks, and support compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
- Advise or coach junior analysts and serve as a subject matter expert to senior stakeholders and team members.
- Consult with users and technology groups, recommend programming solutions, and assist with customer-facing systems.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications.
- Deep mastery of Java, including Java 11, Java 17, Java 21, concurrency, multithreading, memory management, garbage collection tuning, and low-latency optimization.
- Extensive experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring Batch, and Domain-Driven Design.
- Expertise designing and operating Apache Kafka, including cluster architecture, partitions, consumer groups, Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect, schema registry, and idempotent producers.
- Experience with IBM MQ, JMS, distributed transaction management, Saga patterns, and alternatives to two-phase commit.
- Advanced RESTful API design, OpenAPI, API gateways, gRPC, OAuth2/OIDC, and mutual TLS.
- Experience with Oracle, PL/SQL, partitioning, index optimization, query execution plans, and Active Data Guard.
- Experience with MongoDB, sharding, replica sets, aggregation pipelines, and performance tuning at scale.
- Experience implementing Circuit Breaker, Resilience4j, rate limiting, bulkheads, and distributed tracing with OpenTelemetry and Jaeger.
- Experience managing and implementing successful projects, with working knowledge of consulting and project management methods.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, handle changing requirements, exercise independent judgment, and advise stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree or university degree, or equivalent experience.
