Base Salary
$230k - $390k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build feedback loops, evaluation systems, memory, signals, and decisioning infrastructure that enable agents to improve from outcomes.
- Design and ship long-horizon agents that pursue complex business outcomes across voice, SMS, email, and other channels.
- Turn zero-to-one implementations into reusable systems, abstractions, tools, and durable product capabilities.
- Solve complex engineering problems across orchestration, integrations, data, memory, signals, decisioning, observability, and multichannel engagement.
- Work directly with customers to understand business processes and shape Horizon’s product architecture and roadmap.
- Translate validated solutions beyond proof of concept and support successful handoff for continued deployment.
Requirements
- At least two years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience building and scaling end-to-end production systems.
- Strong platform and systems engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with Python, TypeScript, or Go and React.
- Ability to move between customer problems, product design, and technical implementation.
- Strong technical judgment in ambiguous and fast-changing environments, with a builder’s mindset and ability to take products from zero to one.
- Comfort working directly with customers and understanding complex business processes.
- Preferred experience as a founder, founding engineer, or early startup engineer.
- Preferred experience with workflow, orchestration, event-driven, distributed, platform, or reusable infrastructure systems.
- Preferred experience building or deploying AI and LLM-powered products.
- Preferred familiarity with enterprise integrations, APIs, data pipelines, systems of record, and complex industries such as financial services or healthcare.
