Responsibilities

  • Build and extend the low-level networking layer of the game engine.
  • Design, implement, and instrument networking features for multiplayer at scale.
  • Partner with engine developers to ensure gameplay features and systems support multiplayer.
  • Define patterns and best practices for multiplayer-ready code.
  • Contribute to engine tools, data pipelines, runtime systems, and developer-facing platforms.
  • Collaborate with Research Scientists and Engineers to translate emerging technologies and applied research into production-ready engine features.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Experience with AAA game engines such as Frostbite, Unity, Unreal, Godot, or proprietary engines.
  • Experience working with large C++ codebases.
  • Experience implementing gameplay networking features.
  • Proficiency in one or more engine development domains, including gameplay, simulation, systems, content pipelines, or performance-critical systems.
  • Ability to navigate unfamiliar areas of a large codebase and become productive in tools, pipelines, or runtime systems.
  • Experience contributing to engine architecture or developer-facing platforms.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab.
  • Experience collaborating to translate applied research goals into production-ready engine features.
