Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using NestJS and TypeScript.
- Design reusable component libraries and modules for backend applications.
- Contribute to architecture, system design, database design, API contracts, and performance optimization.
- Own complex deliverables across the full software development lifecycle.
- Lead vulnerability remediation, security scan triage, dependency management, and security posture improvements.
- Support security incident response and recommend system improvements based on incident learnings.
- Build security automation, including SAST integration, dependency scanning, and shift-left security practices.
- Align the platform's security posture with enterprise standards and compliance requirements.
- Support SLA management, operational excellence, observability, proactive monitoring, and incident remediation.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and champion development practices that embed security as a shared responsibility.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in TypeScript and NestJS.
- Strong backend development skills with PostgreSQL and TypeORM.
- Experience with Jest and Vitest.
- Track record of delivering complex, scalable systems with ownership across the development lifecycle.
- Strong consideration for maintainability, testability, performance, and scalability.
- Senior-level architectural judgment and technical perspective.
- Payments or financial services domain knowledge.
- Experience with incident response, SLA management, and observability tools.
- Interest or experience in security best practices and vulnerability management.
- AWS cloud infrastructure experience is preferred.
- Experience with OAuth, authentication flows, API performance optimization, API design, and microservices is preferred.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, vulnerability scanning, dependency checkers, compliance frameworks, security incident management, and post-mortems is preferred.
- Experience with PCI DSS, HIPAA, or SOC 2 relevant to fintech is preferred.
