Base Salary
$130k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Map high-value workflows, including data flows, decision points, handoffs, and bottlenecks.
- Identify automation opportunities and build business cases based on time saved, revenue impact, or cost reduction.
- Design future-state workflows with appropriate agents, deterministic logic, human review, context, and guardrails.
- Build and ship production workflows and internal tools used daily by business teams.
- Connect APIs, CLIs, MCP servers, spreadsheets, data warehouses, workflow orchestration, databases, and other business systems.
- Create human-in-the-loop interfaces where appropriate.
- Own agents and applications in production, monitor performance, track KPIs, and explain outcomes to stakeholders.
- Manage evaluations and regression testing after model, prompt, or upstream data changes.
- Continuously improve workflow performance and document patterns, playbooks, and runbooks.
- Teach teams to identify automation opportunities and increase AI adoption.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to map and redesign messy business processes through automation.
- Technical fluency with APIs, CLIs, MCP, databases, and workflow orchestration.
- Judgment to choose between LLM-powered agents, deterministic applications, and scripts.
- Strong foundation in at least one programming language such as TypeScript, Python, or Kotlin, with full-stack ability when needed.
- Hands-on production experience with LLMs, including structured outputs, evaluation frameworks, error handling, and human-in-the-loop design.
- Operational maturity in monitoring, measuring, iterating, and documenting production systems.
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder interviews, business cases, and explaining technical tradeoffs.
- Current knowledge of agentic and applied AI releases from Anthropic, OpenAI, Vercel, OpenClaw, and others is preferred.
- A portfolio of deployed agent-powered workflows or internal tools is preferred.
- Understanding of Git, version-control workflows, and basic AI production security and safety practices is preferred.
- Experience working with operations, finance, marketing, or another business function is preferred.
- Experience writing about Applied AI or teaching non-technical people to use AI tools effectively is preferred.
