Responsibilities
- Automate and optimize service deployments across development, test, staging, and production environments.
- Architect, build, maintain, and improve on-premises and cloud infrastructure, including autoscaling and new-service support.
- Administer environments, manage server logs, monitor system performance, and investigate security and system-related incidents.
- Maintain CI/CD, configuration-management, software revision, patching, hardening, and deployment processes.
- Apply security and reliability best practices, including access control, vulnerability testing, and operational security requirements.
- Build deployment processes for Kubernetes-based environments using GitLab and Helm.
- Maintain technical documentation and ensure continuity of recurring operational tasks.
- Manage the operational readiness board, present at weekly meetings, and determine when services are ready for automation.
- Track routine maintenance tasks, validate engineering work, and participate in SAFe and Scrum development teams.
- Provide required on-call support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of years of experience and education.
- At least 8 years of professional experience.
- TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a CI Poly.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Experience with container images and platforms including Kubernetes, Docker, or OpenShift.
- Understanding of DevOps and software/application development processes, GitLab or other continuous-integration tools, and microservice design patterns.
- Understanding of Python, Bash, and shell scripting.
- Knowledge of network technologies, infrastructure components, load balancers, firewalls, and virtual and physical infrastructure design.
- Experience deploying on-premises infrastructure.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills, with the ability to work unsupervised.
- Understanding of access management and security groups, including IAM, S3 buckets, SSH, and VPN.
- Ability to write and use unit and functional tests.
- Experience using Jira and Confluence.
