Base Salary
$120k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Determine user requirements for a set of scenarios with relevant stakeholders.
- Lead dependency identification and design-document development for products, applications, services, or platforms.
- Develop extensible and maintainable code and mentor engineers across products and solutions.
- Drive cross-group project plans, release plans, and work items using subject-matter expertise.
- Act as a Designated Responsible Individual and participate in on-call monitoring for service degradation, downtime, or interruptions.
- Improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, performance, monitoring, and operations at scale.
- Participate in code reviews covering coding standards, diagnosability, reliability, and maintainability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred experience developing, shipping, and supporting production-grade distributed cloud services.
- Preferred understanding of Azure cloud and cloud-native services.
- Preferred experience building distributed systems with reliable guarantees.
- Preferred understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
Benefits
- The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $119,800-$234,700 per year, with a different range for specified San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area locations.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check is required upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
