Base Salary
$165k - $256k/yr
Responsibilities
- Integrate creator-focused systems into backend architecture to enable generative creation workflows.
- Develop responsive, resilient, massively scalable, and globally available web services for millions of players.
- Apply security practices and techniques to protect user data and prevent cheating.
- Design and implement formalized, testable APIs and protocols.
- Improve service deployment, troubleshooting, uptime, and live-service maintenance strategies.
- Author and review technical design documents and API specifications.
- Maintain automated tests for backend-service correctness.
- Support live environments as part of 24-hour coverage.
- Prototype quickly and solve technical problems under changing game-development requirements.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of hands-on coding experience.
- Experience shipping and supporting scalable web services on a public cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Expertise with Python and Postgres.
- Experience owning large systems and features from design through deployment and live-service support.
- Experience developing high-quality, testable software, APIs, and zero-downtime release strategies.
- Experience with client engineers and designers, load testing, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and database access patterns.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab.
- Experience with AI coding agents such as Claude Code.
