Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end performance analysis across Graphcore’s AI hardware and software stack.
  • Build benchmarks and profile large-scale machine learning workloads.
  • Identify bottlenecks, explain regressions, and analyze low-level system behavior.
  • Translate performance data into clear engineering recommendations.
  • Collaborate with framework, compiler, runtime, infrastructure, and product teams to validate improvements.
  • Publish reports and follow performance issues across component boundaries until impact is demonstrated.

Requirements

  • Strong Python, C, or C++ skills in performance-sensitive software.
  • Deep understanding of computer architecture, profiling, and low-level system behavior.
  • Experience benchmarking and analyzing complex distributed systems.
  • Ability to translate performance data into actionable engineering recommendations.
  • Working knowledge of Linux development environments and tooling.
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks, hardware acceleration, or collective communication.
  • Transferable skills and diverse professional experiences are welcomed, including return-to-work experience.
