Responsibilities
- Design and implement service-mesh capabilities for service connectivity, security, and observability.
- Evolve platform components on AWS and Kubernetes with emphasis on availability, scalability, and developer experience.
- Lead end-to-end technical initiatives covering architecture, technical proposals, implementation, testing, progressive deployment, observability, and post-production follow-up.
- Investigate and resolve production incidents involving connectivity, latency, availability, configuration, and distributed traffic.
- Collaborate with development, site reliability engineering, and platform teams on secure, scalable, operable integrations.
- Participate in technical on-call rotations, incident-management rooms, and postmortems, turning lessons into systemic improvements.
Requirements
- Solid experience developing backend services with Java or Go, designing REST APIs, and building distributed systems.
- Practical infrastructure experience with AWS and Kubernetes, including deployments, networking, troubleshooting, workload configuration, and production operations.
- Experience using Git and diagnosing failures in development pipelines and continuous integration and deployment processes.
- Ability to design modular distributed solutions, document technical decisions through requests for comments, and lead initiatives end to end while guiding other engineers.
- Knowledge or practical experience with service meshes using Istio or Envoy, traffic policies, gateways, and mTLS security is especially valued.
