Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver scalable, maintainable, and high-performance software solutions.
- Build applications and services that process large amounts of data for the digital Mortgages ecosystem.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, business analysts, end users, and engineers to define requirements and solution strategies.
- Guide technical direction, lead collaborative assignments, and coach less experienced specialists.
- Apply secure coding, unit testing, test-driven development, behaviour-driven development, and static analysis practices.
- Develop and improve data models, software architecture, and cloud-based containerized solutions.
- Advise stakeholders and senior management while managing risks, controls, policies, and governance related to the team’s work.
- Stay current with technology trends and contribute to technical communities and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Expertise in Python and microservices design and development.
- Expertise with relational databases such as SQL and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Pandas and PySpark.
- Experience with Apache Airflow, Kubernetes, Chef, and public cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Experience working directly with end users and business analysts to elicit requirements and develop designs.
- Experience building high-performance applications that process large amounts of data.
- Good understanding of data modelling and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with Enterprise Agile ways of working.
- Experience with test-driven development using NUnit, JUnit, TSql-T, or equivalent tools.
- Experience with behaviour-driven development using SpecFlow or an equivalent tool.
- Experience with SAST analysis using SonarQube, WizCode, or equivalent tools.
- Experience with AI-enabled development tools such as Claude Code or GitLab Duo.
- Investment banking or risk experience is valued, or candidates should demonstrate willingness and capacity to learn relevant financial concepts.
- Experience with containers through public cloud platforms or internal container platforms is valued.
