Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, and scale enterprise integrations and automations using Workato.
- Define integration standards, reusable patterns, versioned APIs, and design guidelines.
- Implement standardized error handling, including retry logic, dead letter queues, compensating transactions, alerting, and logging.
- Optimize Workato recipes for performance and cost.
- Support integrations among UKG Pro, Deel, Greenhouse, Degreed Learning Experience Platform, Replicon, and other business applications.
- Design secure authentication and secret-management patterns using OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, API keys, and certificates.
- Lead enterprise integration architecture discussions with architects and business stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot complex cross-system production issues and drive resolution.
- Improve integration and data documentation and evaluate Workato AI capabilities such as MCP, Workato Genies, and Agent Studio.
- Mentor integration engineers and contribute to the team’s technical development.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on integration experience.
- Required Workato certification, such as Workato Automation Pro or higher.
- Strong hands-on experience with REST APIs, HTTP methods, authentication, pagination, rate limits, webhooks, and JSON payloads.
- Experience designing reusable, versioned APIs and maintainable integrations.
- Strong knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWT, API keys, Basic Auth, SAML, certificates, secret management, encryption, and least-privilege access.
- Proficiency with JSON and XML parsing, transformation, and mapping of complex payloads.
- Experience with data transformation, including mapping, filtering, aggregation, cleansing, deduplication, and schema conversion.
- Working knowledge of SQL, databases, troubleshooting, and relational data models.
- Experience with robust error handling, event-driven architecture, asynchronous processing, message-based integrations, and common integration patterns.
- Experience or strong interest in business applications such as Salesforce, NetSuite, GCP, UKG, Deel, Ramp, Jira, Freshservice, and Coupa is preferred.
- Familiarity with Workato AI capabilities, version control, CI/CD practices, monitoring and observability tooling, and data privacy considerations such as GDPR and SOC 2 is preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
