Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and technical roadmap for Parloa's Voice/VoIP infrastructure.
- Design for low-latency, high-availability voice at enterprise scale.
- Drive technical decisions on protocols and standards.
- Partner with AI/ML teams to optimize voice infrastructure integration.
- Diagnose and resolve systemic issues in call quality and latency.
- Define and uphold engineering standards for reliability and security.
- Mentor senior and staff engineers across the organization.
- Evaluate and integrate with telephony providers and carriers.
- Represent Parloa's technical expertise in conversations with enterprise customers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years in Voice/VoIP infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of SIP, SDP, RTP/SRTP, RTCP, WebRTC, and media transport protocols.
- Hands-on understanding of audio codecs and media behavior.
- Experience with large-scale, distributed, real-time systems.
- Proven track record of owning architecture for complex systems.
- Experience with telephony carriers and SIP trunk providers.
- Deep ownership of production SIP-based voice infrastructure.
- Strong systems programming skills in Go, C, C++, or Rust.
- Comfort operating in cloud environments and with container orchestration.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining technical trade-offs.
