Responsibilities
- Deliver identity and access management capabilities across the Ping platform, from infrastructure and databases through user interfaces.
- Design and implement APIs, models, workflows, orchestration surfaces, and services.
- Research and prototype emerging solutions and turn validated ideas into product features.
- Collaborate with product management, UX, and engineering teams to refine scalable and usable features.
- Participate in design, coding, testing, rollout, and production support.
- Use AI tooling to accelerate research, code understanding, prototyping, implementation, and documentation.
- Support other engineers through design discussions, code reviews, delivery, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Design, build, test, and operate production services using technologies such as Java, JavaScript, Google Cloud, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience building production services, distributed systems, or shared platform capabilities.
- Experience designing and implementing APIs, integration contracts, and data or domain models.
- Experience with authentication, authorization, and identity management.
- Ability to turn requirements and ambiguous problems into designs, prototypes, and production-ready solutions.
- Ability to use AI engineering tools such as Claude Code while applying sound engineering judgment.
- Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly, collaborate across teams and time zones, and support engineers through feedback and knowledge sharing.
- Bonus: experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, token exchange, policy systems, delegated administration, identity data modeling, AI agent identity, or non-human identity.
- Bonus: familiarity with MCP, agent skills, and other agent integration concepts.
- Bonus: experience working across multiple codebases, teams, or product areas; distributed systems at scale; international teams; or technical designs and proof-of-concept work.
