Responsibilities
- Architect and build scalable backend services and data pipelines for conversion tracking, attribution, reporting, and campaign optimization.
- Design end-to-end workflows for online and offline conversion signals, including ingestion, identity matching, deduplication, attribution windows, and value processing.
- Lead the architecture and operation of highly reliable ingestion and processing systems with strong resiliency, data quality controls, service-level objectives, and operational excellence.
- Drive integrations with advertisers and external measurement partners using stable interfaces, schema governance, consent-aware data handling, and validation.
- Improve conversion accuracy, freshness, coverage, and explainability through diagnostics, reconciliation, experimentation, monitoring, and alerting.
- Champion design reviews, automated testing, monitoring, alerting, and production readiness.
- Mentor and guide engineers while strengthening system design, architecture, and execution practices.
- Collaborate with product, data science, privacy, security, reporting, and bidding teams to deliver scalable measurement capabilities.
- Lead adoption of engineering best practices and AI development tools across the software development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check.
- Master’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems, backend services, or data platforms.
- Strong skills in C#, Java, Go, or Python and experience with SQL or data-processing frameworks.
- Expertise in cloud infrastructure such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, including service design, storage, compute, networking, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience driving technical architecture, cross-team execution, and mentoring senior engineers.
- Experience with conversion tracking, attribution systems, event processing, identity signals, data quality, or privacy-aware advertising measurement.
- Background in advertising, marketing technology, conversion measurement, attribution, reporting, or large-scale analytics.
- Experience with web, app, or offline conversion signals, attribution models, optimization signals, measurement diagnostics, third-party measurement platforms, identity systems, advertiser data sources, or consent-aware event pipelines.
Benefits
- The typical U.S. base pay range is $142,800–$274,800 per year, with a separate San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area range.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
- Employees within the specified commuting distance of designated offices are generally expected to work onsite at least four days per week starting January 26, 2026, subject to local law and jurisdiction.
- The position will remain open for at least five days and applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until filled.
