Responsibilities
- Design and build search, retrieval, and RAG solutions for Microsoft 365 Copilot.
- Develop, debug, test, and troubleshoot large-scale distributed systems.
- Drive reliability, performance, scalability, and operational excellence.
- Apply agentic engineering practices to improve software development efficiency.
- Collaborate across engineering, product, data science, and research teams.
- Influence technical strategy, architecture reviews, engineering standards, and technical direction.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to data-driven engineering excellence and innovation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience, including coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience includes 8+ years building large-scale cloud services and distributed systems.
- Strong software design, development, debugging, testing, and operational excellence expertise.
- Experience building search, retrieval, AI, or RAG-based platforms and services.
- Experience with modern AI and agentic engineering practices, workflow automation, and AI-assisted development.
- Ability to drive technical strategy, architecture reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Strong communication, collaboration, cross-functional leadership, customer focus, and delivery record.
- Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud background check and applicable customer or government security screening requirements.
Benefits
- The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $142,800-$274,800 per year, with a separate range for specified San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area locations.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
- The position is open for a minimum of 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until filled.
