Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines and services that ingest and unify customer support signals across voice, chat, Copilot, and knowledge-base channels.
- Build and maintain an Azure data platform using ADLS Gen2, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, medallion architecture, and a unified data model.
- Develop governed semantic models and Power BI datasets for self-service, AI-native analytics.
- Build data agents, Copilot and knowledge-agent experiences, self-service report builders, retrieval workflows, orchestration, and model-quality evaluation.
- Ensure data quality, lineage, governance, trustworthy citations, and policy compliance across the data platform.
- Write, debug, test, review, deploy, and maintain production code in SQL, Python, C#, and related services and product/test code.
- Improve pipeline and service reliability, performance, observability, and cost efficiency, including live-site, on-call, and incident-resolution work.
- Develop automated, fault-tolerant deployment scripts and templates and scale services across additional data centers and clusters.
- Collaborate with product managers, applied scientists, analysts, customers, and other stakeholders to deliver support KPI and reporting solutions incrementally.
- Break down larger work items, provide estimates, troubleshoot live-site issues, and act as a Designated Responsible Individual during on-call rotations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience building and shipping production software, including cloud services on Azure, AWS, or an equivalent platform.
- Experience across the services development lifecycle, including design, implementation, deployment, and live-site operations.
- Experience developing on cloud platforms in a continuous-delivery environment.
- Strong coding, debugging, algorithm-design, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Preferred: master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: experience with C# and JavaScript, object-oriented languages, database query languages, business-centric web applications, and modern web technologies.
- Preferred: experience with medallion lakehouse architectures, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, data quality, lineage, and governance for large multi-source datasets.
- Preferred: experience building AI/LLM-powered capabilities such as data agents, copilots, retrieval-augmented generation, or model evaluation, with familiarity with the Model Context Protocol.
- Preferred: familiarity with observability, live-site operations, DevOps practices, customer-support data, or large-scale customer-facing data platforms.
Benefits
- The role is based in Ireland and offers a typical base pay range of €77,400.00–€130,000.00 per year.
