Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, test, and implement complex applications and databases.
- Lead backend optimization to improve performance, scalability, and responsiveness.
- Integrate multiple data sources, APIs, services, and third-party products.
- Develop Java backend services and interfaces using enterprise architecture standards.
- Create and maintain detailed backend architecture and logic documentation.
- Implement security, data protection, resilience, and enterprise technology standards.
- Collaborate with front-end teams and cross-functional stakeholders on backend interfaces and system solutions.
- Promote automated testing, conduct code and design inspections, and resolve elevated issues.
- Deploy applications across development, test, and production environments and provide follow-up production support.
- Submit change control documentation, explain technical considerations, and mentor less experienced staff.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in software development, system integration, database design, and backend architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or a master’s degree/diploma in Computer Science.
- Expertise in server-side development, system integration, API management, database design, optimization, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, API development, AWS ECS, AWS Lambda, and IAM.
- Front-end experience with Angular, TypeScript, Node.js, and REST API integration is required among the listed skill paths.
- Prior COBOL, DB2, VSAM, and mainframe debugging/support experience is required for the mainframe-background skill path.
- Knowledge of Confluence and JIRA, with an aptitude for continuous process improvement.
- GraphQL, CSS, DB2, and API design are nice-to-have qualifications.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
