Responsibilities
- Architect and build Python applications, high-quality tools, services, and web front-end UIs for VFX and feature-animation workflows.
- Deploy ML solutions and integrate AI tooling into production pipelines.
- Design dashboards, curation tools, job-control interfaces, and review tools for ML and automation workflows.
- Collaborate with architects and global stakeholders to implement cost-effective data and MLOps pipelines.
- Build, package, configure, troubleshoot, and debug complex software systems across Linux.
- Improve efficiency, stability, and observability through profiling, metrics, tracing, diagnostics, and telemetry.
- Validate software through unit, integration, and end-to-end testing and maintain CI quality gates.
- Produce technical documentation and workflow guides for artists and developers.
- Mentor developers, delegate tasks when appropriate, and support escalated troubleshooting.
Requirements
- Experience acting as an architect for Python applications.
- Strong Python and Bash programming and shell-scripting skills.
- Experience building and troubleshooting non-trivial C++ packages and software using CMake, autotools, setuptools, pip, poetry, and RPM.
- Expertise with Linux and command-line environments.
- Strong understanding of systems architecture and software engineering fundamentals.
- Ability to explain complex technology to non-experts and collaborate across engineering, research, and artist teams.
- Experience as a lead on at least one project is preferred.
- Experience with package or ports systems, diagnostics, resilience monitoring, Git, issue tracking, and CI/CD or operations tooling is preferred.
- Familiarity with Jira, Elastic Stack, Graphite, Grafana, StatsD, Sensu, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions is preferred.
- Understanding of networking, filesystems, and environment management is preferred.
- Relevant CS or CE education, RHCSA/RHCE certification, and open-source contributions are preferred.
