Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain software applications and program components supporting enterprise business and IT operations.
  • Write, modify, debug, optimize, troubleshoot, and improve application code and performance.
  • Translate functional and technical requirements into software solutions across the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain web applications, desktop applications, APIs, scripts, software integrations, database queries, stored procedures, and data-processing components.
  • Support application modernization, automation, secure software development, system integration, deployment, release management, production support, and UAT activities.
  • Collaborate with project managers, analysts, engineers, architects, stakeholders, testing teams, and end users to deliver technical solutions.
  • Maintain source code repositories, participate in code reviews, and produce technical documentation, release notes, and implementation guides.
  • Support DHS and CISA mission requirements involving cybersecurity, risk management, compliance reporting, enterprise service delivery, and federal system integrations.
  • Research emerging technologies and development tools while ensuring solutions meet security, accessibility, performance, scalability, and compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • At least four years of software development experience, including developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining applications and systems.
  • Proficiency in one or more of Java, C#, .NET, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with relational databases, SQL development, database design, source control, version management, software testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with web services, REST APIs, application integration, federal cybersecurity requirements, and secure software development practices.
  • U.S. citizenship and strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, verbal communication, independent-work, and teamwork skills.
  • Preferred experience includes DHS/CISA programs, federal IT programs, application modernization, cybersecurity initiatives, CDM, FISMA reporting, vulnerability management, GRC, enterprise service delivery, and federal cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment, secure coding, application security, ServiceNow, SharePoint, Microsoft Power Platform, RSA Archer, Salesforce, federal data sources, APIs, and enterprise reporting platforms.
  • Relevant preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, AWS Developer Associate, Security+, and Certified Scrum Developer.
