Base Salary

$144k - $224k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain foundational software services for Amazon Leo government customers.
  • Develop high-data-rate network-layer packet-processing systems and interface software using Software Defined Networking.
  • Demonstrate interfaces and architectures in simulated test environments.
  • Solve complex technical problems for government satellite communications applications in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Lead internal and vendor teams in delivering software and interface requirements.
  • Ensure systems meet performance, availability, reliability, upgradeability, interoperability, and security requirements.
  • Communicate project health, risks, issues, results, and visualizations to stakeholders and management.
  • Escalate urgent issues and drive them to timely resolution.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • At least 2 years of programming experience with one or more software programming languages.
  • At least 1–2 years of software design or architecture experience, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a software development engineer or in a related occupation.
  • At least 1 year designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, or services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
  • Experience with object-oriented design and at least one programming language.
  • Experience mentoring, serving as a technical lead, or leading an engineering team.
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Preferred: 3–5 years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for compliance with government requirements.
