Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and maintain cloud-scale services and platform components for security-critical and regulated environments.
- Build features supporting security, compliance, management, reliability, and availability scenarios for internal and customer-facing services.
- Collaborate with security, operations, program management, compliance, software engineering, and data science teams.
- Investigate and resolve live-site issues, support operational excellence, and participate in 24x7 on-call rotations.
- Apply secure-by-design principles, threat modeling, and defense-in-depth practices throughout development.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code and progressively take on broader technical ownership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Coding experience in one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements.
- Active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with SCI access based on an SSBI with polygraph.
- U.S. citizenship verification and successful Microsoft Cloud background screening.
- Preferred: master’s degree with 3+ years of experience, or bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: experience supporting large-scale production services, including logging, monitoring, alerting, reliability, and availability.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with source code management, CI/CD pipelines, and code review tools.
- Preferred: strong debugging skills across operating systems, applications, and cloud environments.
- Preferred: familiarity with cloud computing, virtual machines, networking, and cloud security disciplines such as event collection, monitoring, detection engineering, or vulnerability management.
- Preferred: strong communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
Benefits
- Base pay is listed at USD $102,100–$202,200 per year across the U.S.; the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area range is USD $133,800–$219,200 per year.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
- The position is open for a minimum of 5 days and accepts applications on an ongoing basis until filled.
